During this workshop you’ll be exploring the exciting diversity of monoprinting – a fun and creative printmaking technique which produces one-of-a-kind artworks.

You’ll be working on an intimate scale to concentrate your focus on colour complexity and mark making. You’ll experience several types of monotype techniques as well as layering with drypoint, collage and drawing, working with both paper and fabric.

This workshop is also an opportunity for you to explore your personal themes across a variety of visual media, opening up creative possibilities and providing fertile ground for imagination and play.

During the workshop you’ll create an exciting folio of experimental prints. A selection of these will be stitched into a journal, to which you’ll add your notes, handouts, sketches and photographs. You’ll take home a bulging ‘recipe’ book full of inspiration and detail - a tool kit to take your art to another level.

Suitable for all levels, no printmaking experience required.

I’ve been a practicing artist for many years, starting with drawing and painting but in the past ten years I’ve focused on printmaking, artist books and paper objects. I specialise in the creative printmaking technique of monoprinting, using plant materials, stencils and other found objects to develop images on paper, creating layers of rich colour and flowing marks. Using natural materials I creatively explore my enduring but complex relationship to the natural environment, actively engaging through observation and awareness.

I love to share my passion for monoprinting and book arts, and regularly run workshops and post my studio news to my blog. My work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, I’ve undertaken community arts residencies and am represented in the James Hardie Library of Australian Fine Art at the State Library of Queensland and in numerous private collections including local hospitals.
