Liz has worked in the textile arts for over 30 years, beginning as a hand embroiderer, moving on into machine embroidery, patchwork and quilting, custom design fashion and millinery. Felt has been her principal art medium since 1990 when she discovered, and was fascinated by the versatility and excited by the possibilities of this ancient technique.
For some years Liz’s specialty was millinery, both as fashion items and as wearable sculptured pieces. More recently she has moved into more abstract hollow forms and wall pieces. She is currently exploring basket making and weaving techniques to adapt and use with felt or to make stand alone pieces.
Liz has tutored and exhibited for many years and has authored three PDF books on feltmaking.
